We met up at the Barking Crab, walked along the Harbor, and made our way toward Faneuil Hall. I’m so looking forward to their autumn wedding on the Cape (and to meeting their sweet new pup, Bruschi!)!

The past few weeks have been such a blur! We’re completely snowed in here in Boston (and less than a foot away from beating the all time record for total snowfall in a single winter!), last year’s wedding season is coming to a close, and I’m spending more time reading and less time working in anticipation of lots of fun travel and lots of hard work later this year. In the midst of rest and fun, I spent last week in Alabama learning from one of my favorite photographers, Bryan Johnson. It was a wonderful chance to reflect more about the purpose of Sarah Der Photography, and to think a bit about how I want to grow in this business. There is so much to do! I did have the chance to shoot a few rolls of film down there (…oh that sun! …oh those warmer temperatures!) that I thought I’d share with you all. A big thanks to Richard Photo Lab for processing the film so quickly, and for Kodak for making my favorite film of all time (duh!).

Just a peek back at my first year as a Boston film wedding photographer–I traveled all over New England to shoot and I couldn’t have been happier to do so! I so enjoyed seeing the mountains of New Hampshire and the coast of Maine, as well as the sun and sand of Cape Cod. A few favorite venues include the lovely Marianmade Farm, Tuckahoe Plantation, Estate at Moraine Farm, and Chatham Bars Inn. I got to eat delicious food prepared by Trillium Caterers (so good!) and photograph beautiful florals by Emily Carter and Michelle over at Marianmade Farm. I also had the chance to meet and work with Sarah, the wonderful talent behind Daisies and Pearls! A few shots above are from shooting alongside Lisa, Li, and Arielle–making new friends hass been such a delight after last year’s big move to New England. I can’t wait to see where 2015 takes me, and am already looking forward to the lovely families and couples I’ll meet along the way…!
