I am so happy I had the chance to fly down to Richmond, Virginia to photograph Sarah + Anthony’s Country Club of Virginia wedding! I really loved the room in which Sarah got ready–an old, historic room at the Linden Row Inn, with beautiful window light and elegant decor. Not to mention St. Mary’s Episcopal Church on the outskirts of the city, incredibly charming and oh-so-southern. After a traditional wedding ceremony, we drove over to the Country Club of Virginia for portraits, cocktails, toasts, dinner, and dancing…! I loved celebrating with Sarah + Anthony’s friends and family, and am so happy for these two!

A few months ago Bryan and I traveled to San Diego for a short vacation with the Der side of our family. We hiked at Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, watched the fog roll over the city from the view at Mount Soledad Veterans Memorial, had tasty fish tacos at Pacific Beach Fish Shop and drank delicious beer at Stone Brewing Co. (though Barrel Republic was certainly also one of our favorite beer spots, too!), and generally just swam and ate and enjoyed the sun. I took along my grandpa’s old 35mm Canon camera and shot a bit of film here and there.

All photos were taken using a Canon A-1 and shot on Portra 400 film. Development and processing by Richard Photo Lab.

I was so delighted to reconnect with Megan and her family a few weeks ago for a sweet, relaxed family photography session captured on film. You see, I photographed May (the adorable girl seen above!) a few years ago for her first birthday, all the way back in Durham, NC. Megan and her family have since moved to a lovely home just outside Boston. I was surprised and so happy to get an email from her, seeing if I was available to photograph them once more, now that May’s little brother has been added to the mix. I love how sincere these images are–just the kids playing at the park, everyone having a relaxed and normal morning, and all of us finishing up at home with popsicles and puppy romps. I can now say with confidence that I can eat a popsicle and wrangle children all at the same time…! ;)
